Les Grandes Ecoles de Communication (GEC) held the closing ceremony of the “Improve Tourism Etiquette” #MEPI funded project on June 29. The project aims to improve customer service, communication soft skills, and tourism work etiquette in 100 degree-holding candidates seeking employment from 5 different cities (Tunis, Hammamet, Sousse, Jerba, and Tozeur). The project also included 125 individuals who were employed by tourism institutions to help improve the quality of service in 25 locations. The second component of the project is the development of a “Tourism Excellence Label” that is certified by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training and the Ministry of Tourism, to be given to successful participating tourism institutions. Other institutions will be able to apply for the label too, based on meeting the service quality standards and requirements. A training manual on tourism service quality was also developed and certified to add to the curriculum of tourism schools through a training session for 25 instructors from different cities in Tunisia. By the end of the project, 49 jobseekers out of the 100 trainees were hired. Thanks to the GEC team for your work to make this project a success and congratulations to all those who started their new professional experience.
