MEPI Beirut coordinator Meets Dr. Imad Salamey at LAU book signing

Salamey Book Signing:  MEPI Beirut coordinator George Aldridge participated in a March 15 book signing at Lebanese American University where he exchanged greetings with LAU President Dr. Joseph G. Jabbra and Dr. Elise Salem, university vice president and director of LAU’s “Student Development and Enrollment Management” office that oversees the MEPI DC Tomorrow’s Leaders college scholarship program.  LAU Associate Professor of Political Science Dr. Imad Salamey invited Aldridge to the signing of his “The Decline of National-States after the Arab Spring: The Rise of Communitocracy.”  Dr. Marwa Shalaby, director of the Women’s Rights in the Middle East program at Rice University’s Baker Institute, led the discussion of Dr. Salamey’s book which contends that Arab society is becoming increasingly fragmented along sectarian and communal lines.
