MEPI Supports Youth Entrepreneurship in Jerusalem

During January 2017 “JEST for Entrepreneurship and Development “a MEPI Local Grantee started a series of Leadership and Entrepreneurship workshops as part of the MEPI funded project entitled “Jerusalem Organic Youth (JOY) “. This project aims to inspire the new generation in East Jerusalem about leadership, entrepreneurship and coding, which are topics not tackled in the current school curriculum. The project will provide them with the tools and skills to enable them to access the economic, social and cultural advantages of being fully engaged in the entrepreneurship community.

On January 6th the MEPI Administrator Rasha Khatib attended one of the sessions and got the chance to meet the students. These students were selected from 9 schools from Jerusalem.

Jerusalem Organic Youth (JOY)” will be implemented as a pilot project that aims to promote entrepreneurial innovative thinking among East Jerusalem youth.  “JOY” will target 200 young people who will have a clear vision and practices in creative and innovative thinking, as well as entrepreneurial leadership. Twenty out the 200 youth will be selected to acquire a set of coding skills and build mobile applications through this program.
