The domestic State Assistance Management System (SAMS Domestic) will soon be used to manage all federal assistance activities at the Department of State. SAMS Domestic is a new in-house grants management system that will replace the system we are currently using to manage your awards, GrantSolutions.
GrantSolutions is being phased out bureau by bureau over the course of FY2017 and FY2018 in an effort to better serve the system’s users. The transition for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs will begin in the next few weeks on December 19, 2017 and end on January 17, 2018 during which grantor and grantee users will be unable to access the system.
We will take the following steps outlined below to guide your organization through the transition:
Step #1: Initial Announcement (this post)
Step #2: GrantSolutions Stop Date Notices (forthcoming two-weeks before stop date, one-week before stop date, one-day before stop date, and day of stop date)
Step #3: Go-Live Notification with SAMS Domestic Resource Information (forthcoming)
The upcoming changes will not impact any of your awards countersigned prior to the December 19th, 2017 GrantSolutions Stop Date. We look forward to working with you to transition to the new system.
